A Year In Photos: Day 220August 8, 2011.
A few minutes before leaving work today, Eric called me. He said he had spotted a few Sandhill Cranes walking along our apartment complex area. He was outside taking photos of them with my camera, following them all over the place (just last night I was saying how we should start taking photos together since he never takes photos. Ever.) When I got home, I grabbed my telephoto and met up with him behind the pond to take a bunch more photos. We slowly stalked them around the complex. The camera doesn’t do them very good justice; these things were massive. Just walking around like they didn’t give a damn about anything. It was pretty awesome.
We found a bit of irony in this as well. You see, Eric had just stopped by our apartment’s main office and let them know that we were going to be moving out of our apartment at the end of September because we are buying a house. A house in a subdivision called Sandhill Estates. And just after doing that, he comes across these 2 Sandhill Cranes lallygagging along. I find a bit of irony in that we just confirmed to our apartment complex that we are moving out and then Eric seeing these two walking around (named after the subdivision of our new house). It’s some kind of omen, dude.
